Alto hearing assessments
Alto360 is a new kind of hearing consultation — one that explores eight key areas of hearing and cognitive health in a single, 90-minute session.
Learn more about our Alto360 hearing assessment, as well as our Free SoundCheck.
Most hearing tests are short, rushed, and product-led. Ours is none of those things. Alto360 is a full-circle hearing consultation to understand how well you hear, how it affects your daily life, and what your next step might be.
This holistic assessment ensures we capture every detail of your hearing health. We take time to listen to what you’ve noticed, and help make sense of it. At the end, you leave with a personalised hearing profile and a clear way forward.
No assumptions. No pressure. Just understanding.
Why people choose Alto360?
- Maybe you are finding conversations harder, background noise more exhausting, or that listening just takes more effort than it used to.
- You have had a hearing loss identified, or maybe you’re wearing a hearing aid from another provider and you are looking to improve benefit.
- Maybe you are experiencing tinnitus that is impacting on your wellbeing or quality of life.
A complete picture - not just a hearing test.
What’s included in your detailed Alto360 hearing assessment…
We examine your ear canal and eardrum, using high-definition video otoscopy, to rule out physical issues like wax, infection, or inflammation. We will also discuss any relevant medical history with you.
If there is any excessive ear wax present, we will remove it, where possible.
We assess how well your middle ear is working – checking for any pressure problems or eardrum stiffness.
Our detailed hearing testing includes full pure tone audiometry (air conduction and bone conduction) and masking, where required, to determine your hearing thresholds.
These precise tests chart a full audiogram of your hearing thresholds across a range of different frequencies. This offers us a clear picture of what tones you can hear, and at what level.
Our detailed speech-in-noise testing uncovers the differences between your ability to hear tones and truly listening to speech when there’s background noise around you – often where people first notice hearing changes.
We take the time to understand you, exploring how your hearing affects your day-to-day life — work, conversations, social settings, fatigue, or frustration, identifying key priorities together.
We discuss the mental and emotional load of hearing issues, and how they may be affecting your confidence, connections, or wellbeing.
If you have ringing or sounds in your ears, we explore how much this is affecting your life, and what treatments might help you.
We include a simple cognitive screen to assess how your brain is processing and responding — part of the wider picture of hearing health.
By completing a live listening assessment, we are able to better understand how your brain responds to amplified sound.
At the end of your assessment, we will take time to explain everything clearly and provide you with a personalised hearing profile and clear next steps.
These may include:
- no action needed,
- a tailored hearing treatment plan,
- referral to your GP or another specialist,
- or tinnitus treatment options (including Lenire).
Where hearing support is needed, your audiologist will explain your options and recommend a plan completely tailored to your needs, without obligation.
